The Munidex, Inc. Pet Licensing system has a feature which allows the users to decide if they want to provide a fee discount to a resident licensing a pet. While most discounts will occur for Senior Citizens or LOSAP Volunteers, the municipality is free to offer a discount for whatever reason provided for by ordinance.
There is no specific “standard discount”. The discount is provided for on the Fee Information tab of the Posting Screen. The discount field is at the bottom of the left side column, below the State Fees. The discount amount is entered in this box, and the fees are then recalculated. The discount amount is subtracted from the Local License Amount, and the appropriate Totals are recomputed. Below are a few illustrative examples:
1. By Ordinance, all Senior Citizens receive a $ 3.00 discount against a normal $ 6.80
Local License Fee. Enter 3.00 in the discount field and recalculate the fees. The
Local License Fee will now become (for this license only) $ 3.80, which will be added to the total of State Fees to arrive at the total amount due.
2. By Ordinance, the municipality decides to provide completely free pet-licenses to the
Volunteer Firemen. Compute the license fees in the normal way, and enter the total amount due in the discount field. Upon recalculation, the total due will be 0.00, and the Local License Fee will be a negative (in the amount of State Fees normally applicable for this license). This discount has no effect on the state fees, nor on the monthly VPH 10 report made to the state.
