The Munidex, Inc. Pet Licensing system has a feature which allows the users to decide if they want to have the system “test” the Rabies Expiration Date in relation to an established standard date. When used, this feature compares the individual license Rabies Expiration Date, to see if it falls within allowed guidelines for the current licensing year. If the test fails, a warning message is issued when the user attempts to save the record. This warning message gives the user two options:
· Continue and save the changed data/record anyway.
· Abort the changes and do not save anything (revert the record back to its prior status).
The user is free to decide to override the warning and accept the saved changes. If this option is taken the changes become permanent.
This feature can be engaged by the user, or disengaged by the user without the need to contact Munidex, Inc. The process is quite simple. Any logged-on user can initiate the process, following the steps listed below.
1. Left Click on the “Table” Menu Button, then Left Click on the “Municipal and Equip” table.
2. When this table appears on the screen, two things must be changed to activate the
automated assignment of license numbers.
A. The second field on the upper left hand corner of the screen (RABIES CHK) must be checked to activate automatic testing. It must be unchecked (blank) to
deactivate automatic testing. After this change is made, save this record.
B. Left Click on the Fees Table (separately for Dogs and Cats). The bottom field
“Grace” is the field to use. Enter the number of days of grace, in relation to the
License Expiration Date, (two fields above this in the same table) during which the Rabies Expiration Date is acceptable.
For Example: If the License Expires on December 31st, “12/31/20xx” and 61 days of grace are entered, any Rabies Expiration Date After 10/31/20xx is considered as acceptable. Any Rabies Expiration Date Before 11/01/20xx would be considered a violation.
2. Any user not wishing to avail themselves of this feature need only ensure that the
RABIES CHK flag in the Municipal and Equip table is “UNCHECKED”.
